Game: The Iron District
These character sprites were created for my 2D Capstone class. The game my team created is called "The Iron District', a steampunk visual novel style game. My role in the team was to design the characters and make both the talk sprites as well as the combat sprites.
Initial concept sketch for the main character Breya. In the final design, her weapon became a drill and instead of a welding mask she now sports a pair of goggles.
Breya; Protagonist of the game. Works in Soren's mechanical shop doing various odd jobs for him. When Emilia gets captured, Breya sets out to rescue her. Notable accessories are her goggles as well as her gauntlet.
Breya combat sprite; wields a power drill while in combat mode.
Initial sketch for the Steampunk guard NPC. There were originally fuel tanks on his back but later decided to remove them.
Guard; A city guard sent to the outskirts of town for classified reasons. One of the game's antagonists. The tubes on his sash contain magic that is used to power his gun.
Guard combat sprite; wields a gun infused with magic while in combat mode.
Soren; Owner of a mechanical shop. Soren crafts an assortment of tools such as steampunk drills and guns.
Emilia; Breya's friend who gets captured by city guards. Possesses magic which is highly sought after by the government. I wanted to give Emilia a woodland fairy appearance. Her metallic flower clip was a gift from Breya.
Inn Keeper; works at the Copper Corset. A friend of Soren's.
